Building Regional Communities: Lessons Learned from the Helena-West Helena Arkansas Case
The purpose of the Regional Best Practices Forum is to learn organization, management and governance principles that have been successfully used in regional economic development projects, especially those aimed at reducing regional poverty. Learning from other community leaders who have implemented innovative approaches to reducing regional poverty is a necessary step to advance the mission of the Louisiana Delta Initiative.
On August 4, the LDI will have the opportunity to learn how leaders in Helena-West Helena, Arkansas worked to bring together these two cities. We will hear from one of the most important leaders involved in the regional economic development process, Mr. Joe Black, who is Vice President at Southern Financial Partners.
Please read the case study that documents the regional economic development process for Helena-West Helena and bring your questions to the Louisiana Delta Initiative’s Regional Best Practices Forum on August 4th. An additional article written by Mr. Black is also available here.
