LDI has One Voice: "Broadband Infrastructure is Key to Economic Development of Rural Louisiana"
The Louisiana Delta Initiative (LDI) developed its strategic plans in 2008. Those plans were presented on April 2, 2008 in Rayville at the Louisiana Delta Initiative: One Voice Summit.
In 2009, the LDI will begin implementing such signature projects as:
1. Connect Carroll (a broadband mapping project for East and West Carroll Parishes);
2. CAMP (Community Asset Mapping Project) whereby high school students learn how to create digital maps for local government officials);
3. Bricks to Clicks for Local Businesses whereby 5 downtown businesses in northeast Louisiana will gain access to broadband, computer technology and training to take their businesses global; and
4. Bricks to Clicks for Local Governments whereby public facilities gain access to wireless Internet connectivity to support social entrepreneurship, non-profit organizational development grant writing in communities and more.
